Demo Impressions : Medal Of Honor

After just finishing off the Medal Of Honor Airborne demo I’d thought I would share some of my early impressions on this game.

First off its not what I was expecting as it doesn’t absolutely nothing to distance its self from the Call Of Duty series. As it looks like CoD but just in a more intimate setting.

Right off the bat you’ll notice the odd control set and the straight out daft way the grenades work. Instead of just having one button mapped to throw grenade, you have to change to a whole different weapon set with just grenades on, then use it like a normal weapon switch back the main gun weapon set. It really takes you out of the game.

The Graphics are soild despite the aforementioned grenades, as the explosions they cause look very odd and very out of place next to the stunning lighting effects.

Its main selling point is the fact that you can land anywhere, which is also its worst point. It makes the whole game feel like a Multi-player experience because when you die you’ll just respawn back in the helicopter. This also was meant to open up the missions, so you could do them the way you wanted to. It’s a shame they are so scattered, this leaves the game lacking in direction. Thats not to say I didn’t have any fun with it. It still holds up as a solid shooter, Its just a shame that the only thing it tries new hasn’t been pulled off.
