The Wall

So, I’m four hours in, doing well, this will be the 12th respective game I’ve clocked an impressive result, I’m feeling good because I’ve found something I’m good at – something I can stick with. Granted what I’m good as is hunting down idle players and scoring fluke points, but nevertheless, I’m enjoying every minute.
Then almost as the matchmaking catches on, it decides to link me up with players who get into position, have correctly setup gear or the most despicable crime of all, people working as a team. It makes me sick.
For whatever reason I just never stuck with the original. I knew it was good, very good. I remember getting up to level thirty(ish) and finally conceding that those higher echelons are just too far out of reach for my casually blasé involvement. I have the feeling that despite my initial intentions, the exact same has happened with the follow-up, Modern Warfare 2.
I’m not sure if it’s the matchmaking or all the lucky wins going to my head, but I can never progress over that magic 30 mark without hitting a brick wall. It’s almost like there are two types of player, people just giving it ago not really knowing what they are doing and people who are really dedicated. Unfortunately for me, I seem to be neither.
I’m starting to wonder if this wall thing is a coincidence or simply how Modern Warfare works, nevertheless I’ll proceed.
