vStick 2.0.3 Release
20th
August 2009

I guess I’m running out of things to post about on here. No surprise their considering the that fact I’m back at home during the summer. The one thing I have been working on, and by working on I mean I’ve made a few changes today, is vStick.
I’ve been using vStick as my own file uploader for a while and offered the source code for download when I originally made it in 2007. I’ve started to use it a bit more often now I’ve had files to send but occasionally some pesky kids keep deleting files on it. So I made some changes…
What’s been added? Since the original version I’ve been through a few personal updates that haven’t be available for download until now.
The major feature is password protection, now your vStick’s upload page is password protected meaning that only you can access the file list and most importantly only you can delete files. You can add as many users as you would like or you could change it so it’s just a password prompt. Automatic time outs along with stored cookies and a logout button are also present.
We’ve also got a new brown and blue look for the code, just to make it look like a new version.
We’ve added a seperate about page that details what a vStick is.
A minor feature that’s been a long time coming is now you can upload files of the same name. Instead of throwing up an ‘This file already exists’ error, vStick adds a random five digit number to the end of the file name.
The code has generally been cleaned up to make it load faster.
Sounds good? Check out more, including the download here.
