Lack Of Originality

I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t been watching this years Britain’s Got Talent ITV’s Cash Cow but I’ve been checking out the final acts and I’ve noticed that the final two acts aren’t very ‘new’ albeit entertaining.
Take the winner, one George Sampson. Dude can dance and put on an entertaining segment but does anyone remember the Volkswagen advert from a few years back? He used the same song and even used a few moves from that advert. The similarity’s are too close for them to be unrelated meaning at some point between the first time he was on the show he must have seen the ad and basically copied it. It would be like me going on the show and playing keepy uppy with an animated stick figure to the tune of N.E.R.D. Ok maybe it isn’t the same but you know what I mean, it would be talented and entertaining (until the animators can’t keep up with the pace of drawing live) but it would hardly be original.
The dudes who came second were basically Micheal Jackson impersonators and although again they where very talented and entertaining, its hardly original. They where also asked on the first showing “what else do you guys do?” they basically replyed “we do more stuff” or something along those lines. They then did basically the same thing three times over. WTF! Why didn’t nobody call them on this.
I guess I’ve missed a few bits where they might have admitted to these…. Shortcomings for lack of a better term, in between the clips on Youtube. Until I get told otherwise I’m calling this show on its lack of originality.
Maybe this is just my inner-design-critic coming out or something.
Either that or my lack of eventful thoughts to post about.

Tell me about it! Also, wasn’t there a guy in ITV’s previous cash cow who put on a ridiculously amazin dance act that would put those other dance contestants in awe?
I can’t remember his name, but man did he own it on the stage.

umm..this whole blog screams JELOUSY and OMG I WISH I HAD THE GUTS TO DO WHAT THOSE GUYS DID!
Although the winning act held some similarities to the car ad, you sad your self, he took some moves, some, not all! he put his own twist on it and it was never about just the act, it was about the person aswell.
As for Signiture, they were bloody brilliant! I am a fan but I am also the first to say that their second performance was not as good as the first or third. They said right at the begining that Micheal Jackson was an influence and they ran with that BUT again, they have put their own twist on it and pulled out a FANTASTIC act!
Dont bitch about them and the show if all you have seen is what you pretended to watch when I was watching it and crappy clips on you tube.

Sam you watched the final on youtube, your pitting your views on one show. Yes its not the most original show format, its a reality competition, just like x-factor. But George was awesome! If you looked hard enough you could find “moves” he stole from many many places. Chances are that advert inspired it. So he added something in. (The advert is awesome)
