Obession Magazine
Although I would like to run a design magazine at one point during my life I don’t think now is the right time to start it. I did have a quick fad where I started blueprints (pardon the pun) for ‘Cliché Magazine’ but it went no where. The point is another project I’ve been working on, that is part of my FMP, is a magazine cover for ‘Obession Magazine’.
Again heres another rough version but this is very similar to what I set out to achieve in the first place. Just like the LCD Soundsystem cover it will be at the final show which again will up in a few weeks. I’ll have photos up as soon as the show goes up*.
* - There will be some latency between uploading them and the show going up but you get the point.

Sound Of Silver Talk To Me
Today I did
a bita lot of work on my Final Major Project for my college course and although I’m not 100% pleased with the way its turning out its shaping up to be a fairly decent project. The final thing will be a complete cover for LCD Soundsystem’s sophomore release Sound of Silver. Don’t worry it won’t be in a Jewel Case, I have this crazy complex digipak-esque idea planned out.I will have final photos of it, along with my end of year show, just like last year. In the meantime check out the front cover, but note that it is a work in progress.
I like the helvetica because its clean but Avant Garde does look nice instead. hmmmm….

iStore?
05.18.08 | Permalink | 4 CommentsJust been doing a spot of research on a new Apple shop opening in my area. Which at first sounds crazy because they only open them at big city’s and Basingstoke is not the next logical step behind London, Glasgow or Manchester. Just looking up on it (it’s also going to a place to spend some vouchers I’ve recently received) and Apple call their shops ‘The Apple Shop’ meanwhile the new one in Basingstoke is called an iStore.
After Yahooing (better than googling) it, the first result was for the iStore in Basingstoke. That was actually the only related result. hmmm…. I have a feeling that this is an unofficial Apple shop that is clever by using the same typeface and colour scheme. I knew it was too good to be true, either that or I’m just being dumb.
