After just finishing off the Medal Of Honor Airborne demo I’d thought I would share some of my early impressions on this game.
First off its not what I was expecting as it doesn’t absolutely nothing to distance its self from the Call Of Duty series. As it looks like CoD but just in a more intimate setting.
Right off the bat you’ll notice the odd control set and the straight out daft way the grenades work. Instead of just having one button mapped to throw grenade, you have to change to a whole different weapon set with just grenades on, then use it like a normal weapon switch back the main gun weapon set. It really takes you out of the game.
The Graphics are soild despite the aforementioned grenades, as the explosions they cause look very odd and very out of place next to the stunning lighting effects.
Its main selling point is the fact that you can land anywhere, which is also its worst point. It makes the whole game feel like a Multi-player experience because when you die you’ll just respawn back in the helicopter. This also was meant to open up the missions, so you could do them the way you wanted to. It’s a shame they are so scattered, this leaves the game lacking in direction. Thats not to say I didn’t have any fun with it. It still holds up as a solid shooter, Its just a shame that the only thing it tries new hasn’t been pulled off.
Last Week I posted numbers 10 - 6 of my ‘Most Wanted’ Games of 2007. Well heres the second part of the list. I’m expecting loads of bad responses from my choice of number one as its not what they would want, If you read it you’ll see my reasoning behind it. If you still don’t agree we can discuss it in the comments.
Like I said earlier in my normal blog post I’ve been toying with the order and after experiencing one of them I’ve changed it around.

Today Hot on the heels of the price drop announcement also showed us the next new add-on for the 360. The External VHS Player. Microsoft issued this official statement earlier today “Coming Q4 2007 just in time for Christmas, the external VHS player will come with 3 free videos and a roll of tape so you can tape over them”
Don Mattrick, Senior Vice President of Microsofts Entertainment department had this to say “We’ve always been at the forefront of technology at Microsoft and now with the lower priced SKU’s and the External VHS Player we will be appealing to a wider demographic and any early adopters of the External HD-DVD Player will be pleased to know that now it will look like you will have two books next to each other, Here in the Xbox Division we believe in constancy between products”
He also addressed the rumours of the 360 moving out of the HD era “Now you can enjoy all your old TV programs in stunning LP/SP which let you record more than the standard amount, current media platforms don’t offer this capability”
Another spokesperson at Microsoft had no comment on the rising reports of a Betamax or a VCD external player but did personally welcome us to VHS 2.0

Hope you guys are all enjoying the new Feature, Part two should be up some time this week, I’ve already got the list done, but I’m still toying with the order. Should be interesting and its nice to see some more visitors on the site. I might have to do more features in the future.
This week I’ve been playing Prey, Mainly to finish off the points. I had to play the story through for the 3rd time on “Cherokee” mode which basically means no health (sounds hard if you haven’t played prey, but basically you don’t die in prey you just have a mini-game to get your health back). Now all I’ve got left is the 250 kills on Team DM which I’m kinda dreading because its laggy as hell. Luckily I’ve got a few people on my friends list who will job for me.
I’ve also bought Flatout - Ultimate Carnage, which is a whole load of fun. The Destruction derby’s are class and the Stunts are hella fun. My only gripe with it is that its way to hard to win a race which is why a lot of the points I’m not gonna get, Still I’m working through the games season mode while playing online.
Flatout offers something different online as its a driving game thats actually quite fun even if you lose. Games are full of people just laughing everytime they get taken out, its really quite werid as its normally full of people swearing a bunch. I’ll most prob write a review on this one.
Has anyone seen Rage? The new game from id, Its not got a date I’d say Q4 2008/Q1 2009 but it looks incredible and actually offers something different. If anyone hasn’t seen it, its basically a shoot ‘em up (come on its id) and driving game in one. I think this will be one to watch, I’m more interested in the storyline that brings shooting and driving together. I’ll post a video

Looks nice eh? Thats pretty much all that excited me from QuakeCon. Actually thats a lie, Quake 3 Arena coming to XBLA is quite big, I’m waiting for UT on XBLA now. Those where the two games that really got me into online gaming.
Anyway I’ve gone on to much, Gonna get the Katamari Demo with OXM tomorrow so I’ll capture some game footage to post or something. Might get Jet Set Radio Future on the Orginial Xbox as I’ve wanted it for a while, and its like £7.99 in Gamestation….. Yeh I’ll see. Man I want some good wii games to come out.
Oh Check out the Rofflefest link on the side, its sorta a webcomic I’m trying out on the side.
Take Care,
Bacon
