Well, after about an hours more work than it should have been I’ve got a new host, thxdaveplzk. Basically, a mate from a forum (mike) told me that blogizzle didn’t work, even though at first it was working fine for me.
I came back to it tonight, to find that www.dotcartoon.com is expired. AW. So after a big mess of crap I’ve got it changed to the new server. This also means IndieLinks is temporally down.
Not much to blog about, I got 1000 in Fifa, nearly completed Prey, DiRT and Dynasty Warriors to 1000/1000 as well, and two friends also got 360’s / signed up with an account so its nice to get some more people to play some unoz with and such.
In Graphics news, I ain’t done much although today I did go to The Winchester Art College’s End Of Year Show. Meh, nothing compared to brighton and we got lost quite a bit. it was a fun trip but their work, although good was nothing great.
Still I’m hoping to again re-skin the site, I’ve never really been happy with it, I’d like to make a logo out of stuff and take some photographs. should be fun. mebbe tomorrow if I get time.
In the mean time sign up the leaderboard, it looks stupid with 13k to nearly 1k on their with the 2 people.
Blog Out.

w00t for a graphics based post. basically last tuesday we had a deadline to our best projects finished and on some white walls. after getting ripped off on foam board and prints it was time to show off my workz.
Well there isn’t much I can say about it until you check out my flickr. I’ve got a few pictures on there for a quick look see at my work. If only i could cut it would look slick as. anyway this is teh story.
Already mad excited about getting my work presented (sounds sad I know) awake at 5, then sleep, 6, then more sleep and then again at 8, I popped in looking to take some pictures and mount them on foam board, as I already had the rest up from the day before. I Used some blue tack and put them up nearer the window than in the pictures because I was told that was ok the night before.
I came in to find my work has been taking down and one of the “lecturers” (hes not really he just swears and gets angry when you ask him stuff) is mad for staining the walls with blue marks, at this point I know he had a reason but I was pissed off, especially when I was told we would be told where to go instead of getting to pick (something we got told before). meh.
I busted a home on, to get a memory stick for some work in progress bits for the ‘Type Poster’ , took some pictures of my poor constructed, even though not to badly designed, book and CD cover. too be honest I was going to display those but I didn’t like how i made them so printed photos in glossy was going to work well.
I then when to upload them for prints but had to go over the whole college looking for a memory card reader that could handle a 2GB card. luckily I got my hands on one and had to transfer them onto a memory stick without a mouse (2 Usb ports with 3 USB devices, one mouse, one memory card and one stick = transfer with no mouse). to be honest that was quite funny.
I got them printed and they looked sweet as on glossy paper, mounted a bunch (after finding somebody stole some of my board) and got ready to stick them up. to find out we had to use pins to hold up our work, I’ve spend over 20 on prints and foam board to find out that we had to use horrible looking pins to display. P.F.T.
After waiting to use one of the two hammers between the 15 people displaying work I got my work set up and on those walls. Was it worth it? yeh, I Just hope that next year it goes a bit more smoother.
Also I now know that those who i got pissed at where prob right but everyone in the whole department tells you something different so its hard to know what your meant to be doing. still it was fun to see my work up on teh walls.
So Yeh It Was Fun.

So in this last week I got a copy of Colin McRae DiRT, Yeh it apprently comes out Friday 15th, but I got it a few days earlier from somewhere in the world….Pc World.
It was nice to get my hands on a game before a lot of people, especially with the way the leader boards work, as I was one of the first 200 people to play DiRT on Xbox Live, I was scoring high in the boards, I’m talking top 10. Now I’m back in the 300th range. Anyway I’m really enjoying this game so far, far better than the Forza demo.
The one game mode you will be spending the most time with is the career mode. You work your way through 11 Different tiers with 14 completey different classes of vehicles ranging from normal 4WD, FWD, RWD Rally cars to Sand buggys to Big Rigs with fat-off wings on the back. You get to race with all the 46 cars in the game in a whole range of different modes each unique with some your going solo on a rally hill climb and then the next minute your racing wheel to wheel with 9 other buggy’s flying over muddy sand banks.
This mode will take you about 15-30 hours (depending on which one of the 5 difficultly modes you pick) to clear everything in this mode and then theirs the traditional style rally championship that followers of the series might already be acquainted to.
Once you’ve gotten through all of that you’ve got the Xbox Live multi player section of the game, which isn’t what you might expect. If you are expecting awesome racing wheel to wheel online but I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. Saying that the online is a rally style mode where your time gets compared to up to 100 other players online, it’s not perfect but it’s still some good fun.
The Graphics are gorgeous, not realistic so you can see the flaws, but its got its own style that really suits the game and you can get some stunning visuals on pretty much all of the tracks. Were talking ‘Gears Of War’ graphics here.
Sound wise the cars are spot on and theirs something werid about how satisfyingly great the crunching and the crashing when you send your car flying to a tree at 100mph. It’s only a shame that theirs no soundtrack while your racing, only some random instrumental tracks that play over the replays and menus.
Talking of menus, damn the ones in DiRT are just about the best I’ve seen in any game in years. They are hard to explain but they are all 3D and sometimes its fun just to move the menus around with the analog stick. The loading screens are even better, showing you some stats about your in-game exploits. It’s only a shame you see them all too much.
So if you like your racing more arcade-based over simulation then, DiRT is your pick for the summer, but with Forza out this has got some competition. but despite the mediocre online play and amount of time spent looking at the loading screen (despite they are sexy as hell) DiRT is so far the best arcade racing game on the 360 and in my opinion is worth a purchase, failing that it needs to be tryed, demo really gives you a good impression of it. Just be warned their is a 15-30 learning curve you have to get past.
Anyway thanks for reading, let me know if I should bust a revizzle on in the future. sorry about the lack of posts, next Tuesday I’ve got my End of year show so its time for a Graphics based post then.
